Autumn (Poem)

I awake to a cool breeze hinting at the winter months to come

Snow freezes on my windshield but melts by the afternoon

Sun rays warm my face when school finishes, jubilance rushes through my veins

Orange and red leaves drift down on the breeze and crunch beneath my boots

Smells of butter, nutmeg and cinnamon comfort me during the cool nights

Orange pumpkins and green and white speckled gords decorate our house

Pumpkins with detailed designs are set on the porch, becoming the squirrels’ snack

Kids dress up in cute, silly outfits for Halloween and make my heart burst with joy as I fill their hands with candies What can I say? Autumn is a beautiful time of the year
